Jay Austin, PT, is a Huntsville native with 20+ years of experience in outpatient arenas including Spine dysfunction/prevention and Sports Medicine of all ages. Jay was blessed to attend Physiotherapy School overseas in Northern Ireland and the experience allowed him to see many different treatment techniques and philosophies before they made their way into the US. Starting and running a successful PT practice for local Spine surgeons for nine years, the Spine experience has allowed him to develop a passion and expertise in treatment techniques of Back Pain/Pelvis-Sciatica/Neck and Hip pain conditions.
Austin Physical Therapy was established in May 2010. Jay‘s goal was to bring functional, ’out of the box’ rehabilitation to Huntsville and North AL that was centered on Repositioning faulty structural asymmetries, Retraining motor patterns, and Restoring efficient movement for all ages.
As a result of the constant search for better outcomes and methods, Austin Physical Therapy now incorporates several “Not so Traditional” treatment philosophies. Jay has been trained in the Postural Restoration Institute approach to evaluation and treatment, PWR4Life! Parkinson’s treatments, SFMA/FMS, Dementia, and is also one of our Titleist Performance Institute Certified Medical, Fitness, Junior, and Power Professionals on staff.
In his free time, Jay loves to spend time with his family and his three girls. Additionally, he enjoys playing golf, baseball, snow skiing, working on his old car, camping, and hopefully getting to the beach occasionally.
